Why My Best Abu Dhabi was started, which Abu Dhabi needs it covers, the districts its lists reach and who pays for a site with no adverts.
Most people in Abu Dhabi arrived from somewhere else, and the practical questions start in the first month. Which dental clinic takes your insurance card, who services the AC before the heat sets in, which nursery follows the British curriculum, who can attest a degree certificate. Ask in a community WhatsApp group and you get dozens of names and no way of telling them apart. My Best Abu Dhabi answers each of those needs with one short list: firms for which that job is the daily work, backed by a long record of satisfied customers.
What the lists cover
Private health comes first, because everyone here is insured and chooses their own clinic: dental and dermatology clinics, aesthetic clinics, specialist doctors, physiotherapy, laboratories and home healthcare. Then the home: AC repair and duct cleaning, villa maintenance, pest control, maid services, interior design and fit out. Company life: business setup and PRO services, attestation, legal translation, accountants, law firms and legal consultants. Cars: garages, detailing, tinting and tyres. Schools and nurseries by curriculum, IELTS and Arabic classes, Brazilian jiu-jitsu and other sports, ladies’ and gents’ salons, weddings and events, and pets. New lists are added in small batches.
The island and the mainland
Our lists serve Abu Dhabi island and the mainland suburbs around it: the Corniche, Al Markaziyah, Al Bateen, Al Reem, Saadiyat, Yas, Al Raha, Khalifa City, MBZ City, Masdar City, Mussafah and ICAD. Al Ain and Al Dhafra are outside them. With each address in front of you, it is easy to tell a short taxi ride from a slow crossing of the bridges at rush hour.
What we don’t do
We are not a clinic, a law firm, a garage or a recruitment agency. We give no medical, legal, immigration or financial advice, we book nothing, arrange no visas or quotes and take no money from readers. We do not inspect anyone’s work or check each licence ourselves. Whatever you agree with a firm is between you and that firm.
Who pays for the site
You will find no adverts here. Readers pay nothing, and no firm can pay to be included. Once a firm has been selected, it can choose Pro, which gives it its own page with WhatsApp, phone and website buttons, photos, prices and offers, or Top, a spot among the opening three of a list where it was placed on merit.
